Homeowners Insurance
Ricci Insurance Group is an independent insurance agency in Jacksonville, Florida that insures homes, with a focus on high-value, custom and coastal homes. Your home is likely your biggest financial investment, and we take the time to insure it properly.
Your home is more than an address. It deserves more than a quick quote.
A homeowners policy protects the house itself, your belongings inside it, your liability to others, and your living expenses if a covered loss forces you out. A key part of evaluating adequate coverage is making sure your dwelling coverage is enough to rebuild your home, not what it would sell for.
On a higher-value home, the details matter more: custom finishes, detached structures, jewelry and art, and how the hurricane or wind/hail deductible works. We go through each one with you, and we handle the coordination of benefits between your home, auto, umbrella and flood coverage.

Coverage
What does homeowners insurance cover?
Every home is different. These are the parts of a homeowners policy we talk about most. Your agent will recommend what fits your home.
Dwelling
The house itself. The limit should be based on what it would cost to rebuild at today's prices.
Other Structures
Detached garages, fences, sheds and guest houses on your property.
Personal Property
Furniture, clothing, electronics and the other things you own, at home and often away from it.
Loss of Use
Temporary housing and extra living costs while your home is being repaired after a covered loss.
Personal Liability
For injuries to others and damage you cause, plus your legal defense.
Valuables
Standard policies cap what they pay for jewelry, art and collectibles. These can be listed separately for their full value.
Hurricane & Wind/Hail
In many areas, hurricane or wind/hail damage has its own deductible, often a percentage of the dwelling limit, and sometimes its own policy.
Deductibles
A deductible is the amount you are responsible for paying before insurance kicks in. In Florida, you will typically have a hurricane deductible and a separate deductible for all other perils.

We get the rebuild cost right
The most expensive mistake in home insurance is a dwelling limit that is too low. We look at what it would truly cost to rebuild your home, not what it would sell for.

Questions we hear most
How much dwelling coverage do I need on my home?
Enough to rebuild your home at today's construction costs, which is often different from its market value or what you paid. Insurance companies estimate rebuild cost from your home's size, construction and features. Custom finishes and recent renovations can raise it, so tell your agent about them.
How is insuring a high-value home different?
A high-value home often costs more to rebuild than a standard policy assumes, so the dwelling limit and the replacement cost terms need a closer look. Standard policies also cap coverage for items such as jewelry, art and collectibles, so these are usually listed separately. Higher liability limits, an umbrella policy and the right wind and flood coverage complete the picture.
Does homeowners insurance cover flood?
No. Homeowners insurance does not cover flood, which in insurance means rising water caused by weather. Flood takes a separate policy. See flood insurance.
What is a hurricane or wind/hail deductible?
It is a separate deductible that applies to hurricane or wind/hail damage. It is usually a percentage of your dwelling limit instead of a flat dollar amount, and 2% is the industry standard, so it can be much larger than the deductible for all other perils. How it works varies by state and by policy.
Requirements vary by state and by policy. See all personal insurance, or related pages: Flood, Umbrella, Auto.
